WHO WE ARE
The mission of Horizons Albuquerque is to advance equitable learning opportunities for students. We partner with families, communities, and schools to provide a summer academic and enrichment program, as well as wrap-around and supportive services for students and their families throughout the year.
The Horizons Albuquerque program began in the summer of 2014 on the campus of Bosque School, welcoming 46 students entering 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. In 2017, our program expanded to include Manzano Day School as a partner site, and again in 2019 with the addition of Sandia Preparatory School (Sandia Prep). Today, our students in rising grades 1-5 attend our program at Manzano Day School, rising grades 6-8 at Bosque School, and rising grades 9-12 at Sandia Prep.
Our program has added a grade level each year since its inception, and in May 2023 we celebrated our first cohort of graduating seniors. Horizons Albuquerque served over 170 students from rising 1st grade to 12th grade during the 2024 summer. Once enrolled in the program, students and families make a long-term commitment to return each year.
