Student Impact
Horizons Albuquerque scholars build their capacity to advocate for themselves and their community.
Horizons' scholars live in surrounding communities deeply impacted by educational inequities. Today, too few children have the chance to learn and grow in an environment that helps them achieve their goals. Horizons Albuquerque is filling the gaps in opportunities for students from under-resourced communities. By cultivating the joy of learning, the skills for success, and the inspiration to realize their dreams, Horizons Albuquerque changes the trajectory of students’ lives, opening up a pathway to successful adulthood.
Horizons Albuquerque scholars:
- gain on average six to ten weeks of academic progress in reading and math each summer.
- acquire new skills and knowledge that translate into school-year confidence, positive attitudes about learning, and student success.
- improve their school year attendance and maintain a high rate of return to Horizons from summer to summer.
As Horizons Albuquerque continues to grow, we are eager to see our long-term students achieve similar promising results.
