Horizons Albuquerque Sponsorships

Horizons Albuquerque is a 100% donor-funded program that advances equitable learning opportunities for students. Our program is tuition-free and offers a summer program, as well as year-round out-of-school-time support for students and families. Growing inequities in academic and enrichment opportunities, social-emotional support, and health services are widening the achievement gap for our scholars and their families. By creating a positive, safe, and affirming learning environment and expanding social and emotional learning opportunities using evidence-based approaches, we can minimize the long-term effects of inequities.

Horizons Albuquerque has over 40 community partners, including three independent schools that host our summer program on their campuses. Coming from over 60 public schools, 100% of our students are eligible for free meals. Our annual operating budget is $509,000, reflecting a per-scholar cost of $3,000. The majority of our budget is allocated to our summer program, during which we hire over 30 highly qualified, licensed teachers, educational assistants, and bus drivers. 

Over the last decade, we have provided summer academic and enrichment programs and supportive year-round wrap-around services as a network program of Horizons National, which has worked for over 50 years to advance educational equity for underserved students, families, and communities.  Please join us by investing in our future.

Your sponsorship will provide greater access to education and opportunities for Horizons scholars. Below are some options; any contribution toward our goals is welcome and greatly appreciated.

Sponsorship Options:

  • $3,000 funds 100% for one scholar annually
  • $6,000 funds 100% for two scholars annually
  • $6,000 Sponsor-a-Teacher annually
  • $9,000 funds 100% for three scholars annually
  • $12,000 funds 100% for four scholars annually
  • $48,000 funds 100% of one class (sixteen scholars)
  • $150,000 funds 30 teachers for the summer

Your investment will allow us to continue to provide and work towards:

  • Horizons students gain, on average, six to ten weeks of academic progress in reading and math each summer.
  • Horizons students are improving their attitude toward learning over time.
  • Horizons students are improving their school year attendance and maintaining a high rate of return to Horizons from summer to summer
  • Horizons promotes parent and family involvement, engagement, and advocacy regarding their child's education.
  • Horizons supporting scholars’ roles in community pay-it-forward and involvement.
